An Active Learning' session within a Primary School, taken for a Scottish local Authority for a yearly Standards and Quality report.
Images were taken for a Scottish local Authority to be used in a yearly Standards and Quality report for the Education service.
'Active Learning' takes place in within Primary schools in Scotland the boundaries of teaching formal lessons to Pi & P2 pupils are changing. Pupils are encouraged through play to discover and explore subjects and topic areas in the classroom, all at their own speed rather than being directed by the teachers.
The sessions are brought together and started by the staff who discus themes for the children to explore. They can use any of the objects available, computers, books, paint or paper. They are encouraged to learn through play; and they seem to love it.
