The 2017 'Being Human' event held in Galashiels and Jedburgh. The theme was 'Mapping the Borders' and combined, walks, a Petcha Kutcha event, perfomance art and an exhibtion.
The 'Mapping the Borders' exhibition was part of a series of events taking place in the Scottish Borders as part of the Being Human Festival 2017, a celebration of the humanities. The exhibition showcased the work of eight artists who have interrogated the idea of the Scottish Borders’: its landscape, culture, traditions and its identity. The exhibiting artists are Zoe Childerley, Mike Collier, Alec Finlay + Gill Russell, Kate Foster, Clare money, Inge Panneels, Andrew Richardson and John Wallace. Each art work will be matched with a corresponding map from the map archive from the National Library of Scotland.
The exhibition was hosted by Creative Coathanger, in Venue 50, Galashiels
