The CABN Creative Lab – Reflections: glass: water: art: science

The CABN Creative Lab – Reflections: glass: water: art: science - event at The Haining, in Selkirk. The lab was part of the Festival of Architecture (FoA) and the Year of Innovation, Architecture and Design (YIAD) 2016.

Three Borders artists (Kerry Jones, Felicity Bristow and Charlie Poulsen) led a team of twelve professional artists and twelve students to respond to the site of the Haining; the house, the loch and the grounds. The brief was ‘water, glass and space’. Glass as a material has played a key role in architecture and science. Reflections: glass: water: art: science is a programme of arts events where the material of glass will form the focus through which to ‘reflect’ on science and architecture with the Haining House and Loch in Selkirk as the physical focus of a place of enquiry.

The Creative Lab was organised as a short artist-in-residence and provide d a platform of exchange of material knowledge and understanding of space through collaborative working. This event was supported by Selkirk CARS, CABN (Creative Arts Business Network), Edinburgh University School of Architecture (Dorian Wiszniewski) and National Glass Centre at the University of Sunderland (Inge Panneels and Cate Watkinson).
